Da biste potpuno razumeli paradoks o kome ću danas pisati, potrebno je da zamislite da imate prijatelja već 19 godina. To je porodični prijatelj i svako od vaših ukućana dobije barem jednom mesečno pismo od tog prijatelja. To nije baš prijateljsko, brižno pismo, neki bi rekli da je to ispostava računa za to prijateljstvo, no svakako možemo da računamo da četvoročlana porodica ima četiri takva pisma / interakcije mesečno. Potpuno je logično da taj prijatelj puno zna o vama (ipak je u pitanju 19 godina i mnogo interakcija, a da ne pominjemo da taj prijatelj ima konstantni uvid u vaše privatne podatke).
